LTC Dudek Change of Command

LTC Danny DudekToday was the change of command ceremony for LTC Dudek held at Joint Base Lewis McChord.

LTC Dudek was the commander of the Warrior Transition Command, which oversees wounded soldiers, for the past three years. Dudek will now transfer to Walter Reed Army Medical Center taking his leadership experience to the Warrior Transition Command planning section in Washington, D.C.

LTC Dudek has led by example as he, too, is a wounded soldier. Dudek, whose feet are paralyzed, has been with the unit almost two years. He was serving in Iraq with Fort Lewis’ 4th Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division when an explosively formed penetrator, a particularly lethal form of a roadside bomb, detonated under his Stryker vehicle near Husseiniyah on July 19, 2007.
