Happy Alive Day 2011 to Kevin Gatson

SPC Kevin Gatson | Operation Ward 57Today marks the 1 year anniversary of SPC Kevin Gatson. It was on this date in 2010 that SPC Gaton survived an improvised explosion device (IED) blast.

SPC Kevin Gatson was injured when a bomb went off inside a wall that Gatson and other soldiers had been climbing over. Gatson lost his left leg at the knee due to the blast amongst numerous other injuries.

SPC Kevin Gatson was one month into his most recent tour in Afghanistan which had begun on June 13th of that year. He has also been deployed to Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom two previous tours.

    Happy ALIVE DAY, Kevin Gatson. I am Laura Boone’s mother and I follow all of you HEROES!!!!!!!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your service to this nation, and I wish you many more ALIVE DAYS. You have a special place in this life, and I only wish you days of peace with your family and the many things that only you can teach them. You have beautiful children and they have a true treasure in their father.
