Two Years Later Remembering Those Fallen at Fort Hood

Nov 5, 2011

Today marked two years since the cowardly terrorist shootings at Fort Hood. The shooting rampage, carried out by US Army Major Nidal Hasan, left 13 dead (1 victim pregnant) with another 29 wounded.

No official memorial ceremony was held, but to commemorate those lost lives, some of the victims’ relatives placed wreaths on the fence that surrounds the boarded up building where the shooting occurred.

Currently Army Major Nidal Hasan is scheduled to go to trial in March. Charges being faced include 13 counts of premeditated murder and 32 counts of attempted murder. Additional charges may be brought up at the time of court martial.

If convicted, the former army psychiatrist faces the death penalty or life in prison without parole.
