Run For Rememberance 2012

Nov 6, 2012

For a 3rd year the Seattle Marathon Association (SMA) is teaming up with Operation Ward 57 to  support the Iraq Afghanistan Run for Remembrance. This run is done in conjunction with the SMA events. Operation Ward 57 is organizing a team to run in the Seattle Marathon 5K Race: presented by South Sound Running on November 24th and the Amica Insurance Seattle Marathon on November 25th as a part of the Iraq/Afghanistan Run for Remembrance in honor of those who died or were wounded in combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.

This team will consist of wounded warriors who will be participating in the 5K Race, accompanied by un-injured battle buddies, Soldiers, as well as some family members of Soldiers killed in battle. The team is open for anyone to join in support. Operation Ward 57 will also be hosting a booth at the Health+Fitness Expo to bring attention to the long struggle wounded Soldiers have on the road to recovery.

To register for the Iraq/Afghanistan Run for Remembrance please email Brittney@operationward57.org or go to http://seattlemarathon.org/marathon/remembrance.php  You will then be forwarded the registration form which can be faxed or mailed back. Wounded service members are free for the 5K but must register by 11/15.
