About Mental Itch Music Group:

“There is no better, or more worthwhile cause than that of Operation Ward 57. Our dream at Mental Itch is to make others dreams come true. I look forward to what the future has in store for us while working with Brittney. Mental Itch Music Group is an independent record label founded in 2012 by Louis Galarza (Louie G) and Amy Taylor. After years of working together promoting shows and helping to develop artists they realized their unique talents and experience were a perfect match to do something very special and unique. And thus… Mental Itch Music Group was born.

Artist development, distribution, sponsorship and building brand awareness are all cornerstones of the Mental Itch philosophy. Combining these powerful forces with both ‘old school’ and ‘out of the box thinking’ is what provides the fuel and the fire for this one-of-a-kind record label. Over the last year Mental Itch has made amazing progress by supporting and signing some of the top talent in the Northwest. With their diverse roster of artists, marketing experience and overall passion, Mental Itch is making a fast play to become one of the most influential labels on the West coast.

No other form of creativity has the lasting power of music because it speaks to us in so many different ways – healing us, inspiring us, moving us and uniting us. Music can make us shout, dance with abandon and sing like stars. It can make us cry and fill us up with joy. We can rely on music, over and over again to take us down memory lane, fuel our creativity and ease our pain. As French Poet Victor Hugo said, “Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent.”

About Operation Ward 57:

“We are really excited for the new partnership because Louie and I both believe that music has the power to heal and it is also a great way to introduce our Veterans to amazing local music. Several Mental Itch Recording Artists have already donated their services in support of Operation Ward 57 and we are immensely grateful to Mental Itch Music Group for selecting us as a Community Partner. Their support will make a real difference to the lives of the Veterans and their families in our care. I cannot thank them enough.” – Brittney Hamilton

Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) in Bethesda, MD is the first stop for many of America’s returning wounded service members from Iraq and Afghanistan. Known as “the amputee ward”, historically the orthopedic Ward 57 at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, now 4E at WRNMMC, houses some of the most severely injured patients for weeks or even months. The painful sacrifice of losing one or more limbs is the new battle these service members and their families now fight.

Operation Ward 57 was started to have a direct way for individuals and companies to show their support and raise funds for these courageous men and women who have given so much.
