Sponsors Help Operation Ward 57 Bring Cheer to Patients at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center

WASHINGTON—Three DC-area businesses have teamed up with Operation Ward 57 to make the holiday season brighter for patients at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

For a 7th year, Operation Ward 57, a top-rated nonprofit dedicated to supporting wounded, injured and ill service members, veterans and their caregivers, is bringing cheer to patients and their families again this holiday season.

“For some of our nation’s ill and injured veterans, getting home for the holidays isn’t an option,” said Operation Ward 57 Executive Director Brittney Hamilton. “That’s why Operation Ward 57 is bringing the holidays to our heroes! Holiday Cheer is our small way of saying thanks for their service and sacrifice, and we are grateful for our generous sponsors who have made this beloved event possible again. ”

Who: The Cook Political Report, Scitor Corporation and Timberlake Homes are sponsoring Operation Ward 57’s 7th Annual Holiday Cheer program.

When: Dec. 15 and 16

Where: Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, 8901 Rockville Pike, Bethesda, MD 20889

What: Volunteers will be serving hot, traditional holiday meals to wounded veterans and their families. Gift bags will be presented to patients and medical staff, and toys will be given to children. Entertainment is being provided by American Bombshells.
