Katie FairmanKatie Fairman – Ward Volunteer

Katie is a volunteer with Operation Ward 57. She has been volunteering on the Ward for a little less than a year. After moving to DC and starting CrossFit, Katie began participating in a CrossFit fundraising campaign known as Fight Gone Bad. Each year, CrossFitters from across the nation band together to raise funds for charities. For three of those years, the Wounded Warrior Project was one of the recipients of the funds from this campaign.

After participating for the third year, Katie decided that she wanted to get involved with wounded warriors more than just once a year. Since August of 2010 Katie has been visiting the ward regularly and interacting with the patients and families. When she is not visiting the ward, Katie enjoys romantic walks on the beach, wine, chocolate, and educating the next generation of warriors.
