Today the Liberty Enlightening the World statue, affectionately nicknamed the Statue of LIberty and Lady Liberty, celebrates her 125th birthday today. Here is to your 125th birthday and to the next 125 to come.

Today marks the 236th birthday of the United States Navy. As of January 2011 over 328,516 personnel were serving on active duty with 101,689 in the Navy Reserve. Altogether these men and women in uniform help to operate 286 ships in active service and more than 3,700 aircraft.
