Sadly, the month of August marked the deadliest month for U.S. troops in Afghanistan since the conflict began nearly 10 years ago. Sixty-seven US troops lost their lives. Almost half those lost were on Aug. 6th marking the deadliest single loss of life as well.

A helicopter was shot down today in Afghanistan killing a reported 30 US soldiers. This crash is the single deadliest loss for America in the decade long conflict overseas.

Sadly today nine NATO soldiers were killed. Seven of those are confirmed as being soldiers belonging to the United States

Today an Afghan Air Corps pilot killed 8 US Soldiers and 1 US Contractor before taking his own life
