The Department of Veterans Affairs will soon begin making retroactive payments to troops who suffered severe injuries outside a combat zone between Oct. 7, 2001, and Nov. 30, 2005, under the Servicemembers’ Group Life Insurance Traumatic Injury Protection Program.

Jason Morefield, a veteran of OIF and supporter of Operation Ward 57, has asked us to keep a friend of his in our prayers today. His friend, SGT Anson Curry, was injurd Aug 6th in Afghanistan.

Three U.S. soldiers were killed yesterday making July the deadliest month for American Forces since the war started nine years ago

Recently there has been an increase in Afghanistan in the total number of causalities. These causalities have gone beyond just American causalities but have also affected our allies in NATO as well. Operation Ward 57 sends our condolences to the family, friends & loved ones to those that recently made the ultimate sacrifice no matter what their nationality may be.

We offer our deepest sympathies to those who lost their loved ones in this callous attack upon allied forces. Today 10 Nato soldiers including 7 Americans lost their lives marking the worse day in the region in seven months.

Sadly, the death toll in Afghanistan has reached a milestone of 1,000 causalities today.
