October 20th, 2013 will be the “Army Ten-Miler 2013″ race in Washington, DC. This event is produced by the U.S. Army Military District of Washington. The race starts and finishes at the Pentagon, passing by DC landmarks including the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, and the Capitol Building. Last year over 30,000 runners participated!
The mission of the Army Ten-Miler is for the Military District of Washington to safely conduct the Army’s annual 10-mile race to promote the Army, build esprit de corps, support fitness goals, and enhance community relations.
Operation Ward 57 will once again be in attendance as a Official Military Community Support Partner. Several current and former members of Ward 57, family members, as well as staff members of Walter Reed National Military Medical Center will be participating in the race. Operation Ward 57 will have an booth set up at the Army Ten-Miler Health & Fitness Expo in the DC Armory as well on October 18th & 19th. The armory is located at 2001 East Capitol Street, Southeast across from RFK Stadium in Washington.
