Operation Ward 57 has served the veteran and wounded warrior community for many years. When we first started, the mission was to assist and support the veterans returning from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. With the withdrawal from Afghanistan, the mission must adapt and evolve.

One of Operation Ward 57’s most successful programs was the Honor and Courage Program, led by Heather Sliwinski. Heather’s efforts have assisted and supported thousands of veterans, as many of you know. We are very excited to announce that The Honor and Courage Foundation is now registered as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization where it will honor the legacies while giving hope and healing to those still in the fight.

After much reflection, we have decided to close our doors and pass the baton to the Honor and Courage Foundation to take flight and continue the mission.

We are confident that you will find that the Honor and Courage Foundation will take the mission into the future and will continue to support our veterans, wounded warriors, and caregivers for many years to come.

One of the first things that The Honor and Courage Foundation will be continuing and launching is the Adopt a Family Program that OPW57 has run for many years to spread Christmas Cheer to veteran and Gold Star Families in need. The applications are live on the website for both families and sponsors, and this year, Vietnam Veterans will be permitted to apply, so sponsors can send some Christmas Cheer their way.

It has been a pleasure assisting all of you over the years, so although it is sad to see this chapter closed, we are very excited about the wonderful things to come.

The Honor and Courage Foundation will continue to advocate for and support our veterans and wounded, because as we know, For the Wounded, the Fight Never Ends.
