THE TOP CELTIC BAND SUPPORTING MILITARY PERSONNEL AND WOUNDED WARRIORS.” — CHUCK BLOOM, CEILI MAGAZINE

If the 78th Fraser Pipe Band sat down with the Chieftains, Wolfstone and the Dave Matthews Band, and then asked some friends from a symphonic orchestra to join them the resulting sound might resemble the AMERICAN ROGUES.  For years the performances of this CeltRock World Classical group have electrified audiences on three continents. They have added to their ever-growing family of fans — affectionately known as the Rogue Army — at music festivals, theaters, Highland Games, clubs, resorts & casinos, renaissance festivals, and corporate events — anywhere that presents top-quality, high-energy music. Their hard won road successes have established them as artists with bona fide international acclaim. Renowned for their musical skill, quick wit, and engaging stage show the AMERICAN ROGUES have mastered the art of creating an immediate connection with their audiences. The AMERICAN ROGUES are fast becoming a household name with music lovers around the world, loved by young and old of all backgrounds.

Through their support of the troops the American Rogues have performed USO-type tours of Japan, Italy, Spain, Guam, and Guantanamo Bay, as well as military bases in Canada.  They volunteer as part of the Honor Flight program for WWII Veterans, they’ve appeared with the U.S. Air Force Symphony at DAR Constitution Hall in Wasington, D.C., and they’ve helped raise funds for Operation Ward 57 and other Veterans charities.  They also have a standing invitation to perform for the U.S. Navy SEALs at their annual Muster in Ft. Pierce, Florida.

United States Veterans Art Program (USVAP)
www.usvap.orgUSVAP_transparentThe United States Veterans Arts Program is a Chicago-based non-profit 501c-3 that has melded contemporary veterans issues with community-based support, in order to highlight one of the most crucial concerns of our times: improving the health of the military and veteran population that suffers not only from physical disabilities, but also from PTSD and other mental health needs. USVAP believes that art can address many of these issues: for this reason, we provide “Artistic Tools” (musical instruments, paints, photography equipment and other art supplies) to veterans and veterans medical facilities. We also provide employment opportunities and resume/portfolio building to veterans actively involved in music performance and production.
By encouraging and supporting an aesthetic response to the military experience, we hope to emphasize the diversity of the veteran population and to create a new identity of veterans as people who are capable, gifted, and resilient, and also that they often possess the very voice that society needs to hear and to heed.
