Join our team and run in remembrance of those who were wounded or killed in action in Iraq and Afghanistan! There are several opportunities to join our team and show your support. If you are not in the area consider doing a shadow run! Contact us for info!





For a 7th year, following the successful Amica Insurance Seattle Marathon Baghdad Shadow Run, which took place in Baghdad, Iraq in November 2009, the Seattle Marathon Association is teaming up with Operation Ward 57 and Soldiers from Joint Base Lewis McChord (JBLM) once again. This year, the Seattle Marathon Association and Amica Insurance will sponsor soldiers from the First Corps, America’s Corps, from JBLM as they organize a team to run in the Amica Insurance Seattle Marathon and Half Marathon on November 29th as an Iraq/Afghanistan Run for Remembrance in honor of those who died or were wounded in combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. The team is open to all. Wounded Warriors may qualify for reduced or free race entries. Wheelchairs & Handbikes are allowed. Operation Ward 57 will also be hosting a booth at the Health+Fitness Expo to bring attention to the long struggle wounded Soldiers have on the road to recovery. In 2010, the SMA brought on Operation Ward 57 as an Official Charity Partner. This charity supports wounded warriors as they recover from severe injuries. This year’s event will continue to foster the relationship with SMA and Amica Insurance and promises to be a first class event for all involved.
